Taking on Wang Yihan from China on Sunday afternoon (5/6, Tzu Ying succeeded in winning the match in two games. Winning 21-17 in the opening set, Tzu who is taking the lead ended the match with victory, 21-8.
“Today Wang Yihan didn't play as usual. Maybe because the exhaustiveness after tough matches in quarter final and semifinal," Tzu Ying said after the match.
Yihan also didn't attend press conference due to allergy. Next, Tzu Ying will appear at the Australia Open Superseries 2016 held next week and Taipei Grand Prix Gold in the end of June.
Since 1982, this is the first time for Taipei to win the title in women's singles, and the second time after Lee Sheng Mu/Fang Chieh Min who managed to be champions in men's doubles in 2010.
