Playing at JCC Plenary Hall, Fitriani was unable to play as she usually does. She could not handle Sung before she finally lose with convincing 10-21 and 10-21.
It was confirmed by Fitriani when met by the media shortly after the match.
"I feel that I was not playing all out I could handle the pressure. During the match, I applied fast rally since if it were slower, the opponent would be safer, her rally was slower," she said.
"I was carried by my opponent's game, I was dictated. I did my own mistakes as well, the shots were out from the pitch. Sung was also affected by the wind but she could handle it," Fitriani concluded.
With this result, the Indonesian women's singles sector only relies on Gregoria Mariska who will fight for quarter-final against Taiwan's first seed, Tai Tzu Ying.
