Playing on court #1 in the first match, Tiara/Rizki immediately gave recalcitrant performance since the beginning of the match. Their opponents were overwhelmed and unable to perform their best. Tiara/Rizki took a lead, 11-4, 15-5, and when leading 20-10, Piek's smash touched the outside the line, that brought the Indonesian pair to the first set victory, 21-10.
In the beginning of the second set, the game was rough. When the set was 4-4, the Dutch pair was being benefited by Tiara/Rizk's own mistakes, 8-4. Although catching up 8-8, the Indonesian pair failed to keep the points lead.
Tiara/Rizki turned the table and took the lead, 16-15. They gained self confidence as they led significantly 20-15, one point to victory.
Unfortunately, five points in a row were scored by the Dutch, the set was now 20-20. Finally, Tiara/Rizki failed to end the set with victory after losing the setting, 22-24.
In the third set, the battle was even tighter. Setting also occurred. Finally, the crowd at the stadium had to take the bitter defeat, Tiara/Rizki was forced to surrender in the hands of the Dutch pair, 23-25.
"We were not lucky this time perhaps. We led in the second game but we couldn't convert it into a win. One point was difficult and expensive. We were hasty to defeat them but we were the ones who lost. The same thing happened in the third game," Tiara said.
"We made mistakes, I made hesitant returns, I was in hurry to defeat them," Rizki said.
With this result, Indonesia only has one women's singles pair who hasn't played in the quarter final, Anggia Shitta/No Ketut Mahadewi. They will face Malaysia's Vivian Kah Min Hoo/Khei Wei Woon.
