Nehwal steps on the second round of the BIOSSP 2016 after overcoming Pai Yu Po with a rubber set, 21-11, 19-21, 21-15, a 63 minute match.Receiving heavy resistance, the #8 seed said she was extremely tired.
However, the support from the crowd injected spirit for Nehwal to turn the table and win the match. Next, Nehwal, the three time Indonesia Open champion, will take on Indonesia's Fitriani who has just defeated her compatriot, Gregoria Mariska, in the first round.
Taking on Fitriani, Nehwal is demanded to be aware. This will be their debut match on the court.
Previously, Nehwal claimed she had watched Fitriani's performance at the 2016 Uber Cup. She is in an opinion that Fitriani is one of the toughest player and a potentioal competitor who is deserved to be anticipated so that she can clear her way to champion at Senayan.
"But, the condition here (Indonesia Open) and at the Uber Cup are different. Here, the match speed is higher. I have watched her playing. But, I still need to be cautious and to analyze in order to win," Nehwal said.
Meanwhile, when asked to choose between India or Indonesia as the preferred place to play, the 26 year old player chose Indonesia. The crowd's noise and the rumbling atmosphere make her want to keep on coming back to Indonesia.
