Playing on court #1, the Indonesian young pair had to admit their Dutch opponent, Eefje Muskens/Selena Piek, in a tight three set match, 10-21 22-20 and 25-23.
"The match against the Indonesian was pretty tough. We were actually playing under pressure from the Indonesian supporters. But we felt lucky to win the second and the third set especially we were far left behind in the second set, 15-20, before we equalized," said Piek.
This is the first time for the world's #11 to taste Superseries level premier semifinal. Eefje admitted they are very pleased and they have never imagined of this.
"We are really surprised to be in the semifinal. This is our first Superseries semifinal. We had not set any particular target for this tourney and we just wanted to play our best," she added.
In the tomorrow's semifinal, Saturday (4/6), they are still waiting for an emerging winner of a matched played by the #1 seed, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (Japan) and Huang Yaqiong/Tang Jinhua (China).
"Whoever our opponent will be, we will fight optimally," Eefje stated.
